## Data Center Light is now hosting for South Pole
We have a great news - that we have welcomed a new customer into our renewable-energy powered data center in the Alps. It is rare that we write about who we offer our services for, so when we do it you know it is a bit special and we might have a good reason. This time we're introducing another penguins: the great penguins all the way from [South Pole](https://www.southpole.com/).
## Who is South Pole?
South Pole is a team of passionate sustainability experts with its headquarter in Zürich. South Pole specialize in green investments, climate actions for businesses, climate risk assessment and, renewable energy(!). Started as a handful people with great ideas back in the 2006, now their offices are spread over 30 countries, such as Singapore, London, Amsterdam, Sydney, Stockholm, and more. And most importantly: their mascot is a penguin, and the team calls themselves as penguins.
Sustainability, Switzerland, penguins?! Instant love for us.
We recommend that you take a look at [their blog](https://www.southpole.com/blog) that covers their impressive projects such as forest conservation, wild animal protection, clean water project for communities, and many more.

## When our passion overlaps
When we started a data center in the valleys of Switzerland only using energy from the on-site hydropowerplant and the old factory halls from the bygone weaving industry, and when we built everything from a scratch with recycled hardware, we were all in for creating a data center as sustainable as possible. However it was not 100% clear for us what kind of customers our services would be offered to: as you might have noticed we are a team of people who really like what we do and are not always into talking about what we do (although we should and need to) because we are much more into doing things and pushing things forward. This, our charm and shortcomings at the same time, has brought us actually the best kind of customers for us. The kind who shares our visions of sustainable technology and understands the value of what we do.
So such was the case for team ungleich and team South Pole. For us, it is thrilling that the those whom we provide our services for or get services from has the same mission. Enabling those who has the same visions for the future as we do - that's what this is all about.
