Simply install cinit (make install), configure cinit
(see configuring.cinit), restart system using
cinit (see README/Installing) delete /sbin/init
and link, move or copy cinit to init (ln -s /sbin/cinit /sbin/init), reboot.

That's everything in general, the biggest part will be to configuring cinit.
