+## The key
+
+Like in any modern car, the key of the Porsche Taycan communicates
+wireless with the car for opening and also that it is being present in
+the car.
+
+Like any other key, the battery needs to be replaced, when it's empty.

+## Replacing the battery
+
+However, unlike other cars, the Porsche Taycan has a weird quirk. When
+you replace the battery, go back to the car, the message you get in
+the car is "battery low, please replace battery".
+
+The first though one has is, "Wait, what, did I just add the old
+battery again?" and "Ohh, did I throw away the new battery?".
+
+So replacing the battery the first time makes you replace it at least
+twice, because when you go back to the car again, the messages
+persists.

+So what happened? Did I buy a pack of (almost) empty batteries?

+## Delayed status update
+
+No, the first replacement was already correct. The Porsche Taycan just
+needs a few days (!) until it recognises that the battery in the key
+has been replaced. This is one of the strangest experiences I had with
+a car, but that's how it is with the Porsche Taycan.
+
+The various Porsche Centers confirmed that this is normal.
